Black Himalayan Salt is a natural rock salt that is hand mined from salt rocks in the foothills of the Himalayas. It was formed over millions of years from oceanic salt deposits pushed to the surface by the movement of the earth's crust and hot magma. Himalayan salt contains more than 95% sodium chloride and several minerals important to the human body in an easily digestible ionic form. These are potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron. Its crystal color can range from gray-white to black to slightly pink. It has a slight sulfur smell.
Recommended Use: In any dish where you would normally add salt.
