The secret of Khadi hair dye lies in the combination of high colour intensity and Ayurvedic care. According to Ayurvedic principles, the plants are harvested only once a year, when the pigments are at their most intense. Only the finest hand-picked plant parts are used, without stems or stalks, and are ground into an extremely fine powder using an innovative process.

Unlike synthetic hair dyes, where oxidising agents cause the hair to swell to open up the outer layer of the cuticle to the pigments, with Khadi's plant-based hair dyes the pigments envelop each hair like a protective sheath. Wash your hair thoroughly beforehand with a certified natural shampoo, preferably Khadi DeepCleanse Shampoo.

Mix the dye powder with 70-80 degree warm water until it becomes creamy and all the powder particles are completely dissolved. Apply the cream evenly, strand by strand, on the hair with a brush or with your hands (use the gloves provided and preferably in the shower or over the bath, upside down). If you only want to colour the roots, do not colour the lengths and ends of the hair.

Leave the colour on for 60-120 minutes. The longer it is left, the darker the colour will be. If you have already dyed your hair in this shade and only want to refresh the colour, leave the colour in for 15 to 30 minutes.

At the end of the colouring time, rinse the vegetable hair colour with clean water. Do not shampoo for 24 to 48 hours to allow the full depth of colour of your shade to develop.

Post-treatment Tip: immediately after rinsing your colour with water, use Khadi ColorFinish Conditioner to wash away any built-up colour particles and to help detangle. After the colour has set, rinse your hair thoroughly again with lukewarm water.

Tip for a perfect result: we recommend fixing the colour pigments in the hair with Khadi ColorCare Hair Oil before the first hair wash after 24-48 hours. Your khadi shade will last much longer and the depth of colour will be more intense. To do this, distribute the oil evenly in your hair and leave it on for at least 20 minutes. Then wash it out with a natural, silicone-free shampoo such as Khadi AMLA VOLUME.

Note: Every hair is unique, just as we are all different. Test your vegetable hair colour carefully on an inconspicuous sample strand to achieve the best results for your individual hair.

Safety instructions: apply only to intact skin and avoid direct contact with eyes. The powder is very fine - do not inhale dust. After mixing the powder, allow it to cool to a comfortable temperature before applying.
