Chyavanprash has been appreciated in India for centuries. In Ayurveda, it is a dietary supplement. "Chyavanprash is a delicious, mildly spicy puree of ghee (melted butter), rich in Amla (Amalaki), cane sugar, honey and a wide variety of Ayurvedic herbs.

"Chyavanprash has special balancing properties - it is a calming and balancing food supplement for the whole family. Particularly beneficial properties include natural vitamin C, highly concentrated in the Amla fruit, and selected Ayurvedic herbs. The natural ingredients, which have been researched and proven over thousands of years, make Chyavanprash highly suitable for people of all ages.

In the classical Ayurvedic tradition, Chyavanprash belongs to the so-called Rasayanas (this word is a combination of the words Rasa and Ayana). Rasa, as the body's movement fluid, is produced during digestion and has nourishing properties for all tissues. In Ayurveda, the following tissues (Dathus) are distinguished: Rasa (plasma), Rakta (blood), Mamsa (muscles), Medas (fat), Asthi (bones), Majja (bone marrow), and Shukra (nervous and reproductive tissue). .
Ayana means that Dhatus is well nourished and healthy. Therefore, Rasayana is truly a blessing for the whole body.

"Chyavanprash is an authentic Ayurvedic food supplement with many historical references and legends. The earliest sources indicate that Chyavanprash dates back to more than 3000 BC. According to the ancient Ayurvedic text 'Charak Samhita', the first and oldest Ayurvedic scripture, Chyavanprash can and should be taken daily.

About the ingredients:
Most recipes involve boiling the herbs in water and then mixing the dried extract with honey. The powder is then added to the aromatic spices cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. The finished product is like a sugar syrup but with a delicious and slightly spicy taste.
Ayurvedic herbs and spices are traditionally made according to the Sarangadhara Samhitha, one of the main scriptures of Ayurveda.

Amalaki (Amla, lat. Emblica officinalis, Indian gooseberry) is one of the main ingredients, along with cane sugar and honey. According to ancient Ayurvedic texts, Amalaki is the richest source of natural vitamin C, containing almost all six Ayurvedic flavours except salty. Amalaki contains calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene, carbohydrates, thiamine, riboflavin and many others. Many scientifically sound studies have confirmed the positive properties of Amalaki.

Raw cane sugar and honey serve as carrier herbs. In addition, cane sugar and honey give a sweet taste, refreshing, according to Ayurvedic texts. Chyavanprash would not have the same potency without sugar and honey.
